Why is Nutrition Important – 3 Reasons Why Good Nutrition is So Important?

If you want to improve your nutrition, there are three things you need to know, to live a longer and healthier life. They are a balanced diet, the nutritional value of your food and the exercise you do.

I will explain each of them in this article, and show how you can use them to achieve your own nutritional goals.

Why Is Nutrition Important in a Balanced Diet?

Obtaining a balanced diet is only worthwhile if you make sure that the food you eat has real nutritional value and you do sufficient exercise to complete the circle.

A balanced diet requires eating a good variety of whole foods – fruit, vegetables, grains and protein sources such as beef, chicken and fish.

Our bodies are about 70% water and need a regular supply of water to maintain the optimum level. We can live without food for some time, but not water.

Why Is Nutritional Value Important?

Increasing the nutritional value of your food requires avoiding highly processed foods and reading of food labels to ensure that the food contains what we expect and does not contain hidden sugars, saturated fats and sodium.

Much of the food available to us is so processed that it retains very little of the original nutrients. We need to search for food that retains its nutritional value to us and eat a much higher percentage of this type of food.

In general, we should avoid drinks with additives, such as sugar and flavouring or keep them to a minimum. Soft drinks will provide the liquid we need, but have limited nutritional value, so are best avoided.

Why Is Nutrition Important for Exercise?

Exercise should be considered as a very important part of a nutrition triangle which include the food we eat and the water we drink. Sufficient exercise is vital to our well being.

Exercise consumes calories that we need to replenish, or use to remove fat stored in the body. High levels of exercise require an equivalent level of nutrition to maintain a healthy balance.

The quantity of water we require will increase with the level of exercise, and our calorie consumption also increases with our exercise level.

We gain energy from the food we eat, so it is important to eat sufficient food with good nutritional value. A balanced diet results when we eat a very good variety of food.

If we wish to lose weight, we can use exercise to burn up excess calories and monitor our nutritional intake to maintain or improve our health.

We need to balance the level of our exercise with our nutritional and water intakes.

Top 7 Foods To Help Grow A Bigger Penis Size

Wouldn’t it be amazing if you could grow a bigger penis size by doing nothing but healthy and natural things? Think about it: You won’t have to spend a fortune on pills, wear uncomfortable pumping devices, put yourself at risk with side-effects using extending devices, or risk getting a permanently deformed penis by undergoing surgery!

Sounds great doesn’t it? But now the question is:

How exactly can you grow bigger without using any of those popular methods?

Well my friend, believe it or not, it all starts with taking care of your overall health. Eating the right types of foods can actually help with increasing your size, improving your sexual performance, and even improving the health of your penis and prostate. In combination with eating the right foods, you have to do the right type of male enhancement… which would be 100% all natural penis enlargement that stimulates growth with your penile chambers, ligament, and PC muscle.

Now, down below I’m going to share with you the top 7 foods I personally ate (and still do) to help grow a larger endowment…

7 Foods To Help Get Bigger…

1.) Garlic – This nutrient helps you grow bigger by getting rid of impurities in your blood and speeding up blood flow.

2.) Oranges – This super fruit will not only help boost your immune system and decrease your stress levels, it will also help strengthen your capillary walls and prevent plaque build up. To make eating them easier, I usually just take a couple of oranges and make freshly squeezed juice using one of those manual citrus juicers.

3.) Watermelon – This delicious Summer time snack doesn’t just help you cool off on a hot day, it also contains lycopene. Lycopene is an antioxidant that helps improve blood circulation.

4.) Dark Chocolate – A modest amount of dark chocolate can do A LOT for your body… including helping your manhood grow bigger. Dark chocolate helps you increase your size since it contains flavonoids… which helps improve circulation.

5.) Ginger – This delicious and versatile nutrient boosts blood circulation. I personally like having ginger tea. If it’s hot out, simply have iced ginger tea.

6.) Cayenne Pepper – If you consume cayenne pepper (the seasoning or the pepper itself) each day, you can strengthen your blood vessels and arteries… plus boost your metabolism.

7.) Omega 3 Fatty Acids – This nutrient can be found in a multitude of foods. Salmon, avocados, nuts, and more. Omega 3 fatty acids increases blood flow and improves your cardiovascular health. Not to mention, it also greatly improves your heart health as well!

Why Are Those Foods Important?

Now, if you look at all the foods above, what’s the one thing they all have in common?

You got it… they all improve blood circulation. Having better blood flow is one of the most important aspects for growing bigger, consistently and quickly developing an erection, lasting longer in bed, and having powerful orgasms. Although they can help, taking expensive enhancement pills (the natural kind), as you can see from the above, is not necessary. You can save money (and improve your overall health) simply by adding those delicious foods and nutrients in your diet.

What Else Is Needed In Order To Make Gains?

Well, as I mentioned above, in order to grow bigger, you have to naturally stimulate your penile chambers, naturally stretch out your penile ligament, and strengthen your PC (pubococcygeus) muscle. Going with a penis enlargement method that will do ALL of those things together is what will guarantee a larger penis size… and I’m speaking from experience here…

I went with a natural enlargement method, plus ate those foods above, and within 8 weeks time… I grew 2 inches bigger, the girth of my penis is much wider, my erection looks more muscular, I can last several times longer before ejaculating, and my orgasms are insane.

Bottom line, naturally improving your blood circulation (such as with eating those foods above), and using a natural growth method are the proven effective ways to not only grow bigger, but to also do so safely, effectively, significantly, and PERMANENTLY.

3 Health Benefits of Bowling – Tone Those Muscles and Make a Strike!

Among the many sports that man has ever played, perhaps, bowling is the most popular among all. With over 50 million players in the United States alone, bowling is definitely one sport that is a cut above the rest.

Among the many reasons this particular sport has remained at top of is the fact that it is a highly flexible sport. It promotes easy adjustment methods that are why many children and adults alike can take part in this remarkable game.

About 95% of bowlers consider bowling as a sport that can be exploited as a recreation, a form of relaxation, a societal factor, and a competitive nature as far as sportsmanship is concerned.

The simplicity of the game contributes to its adaptability. Because its rules are easier to understand, more and more people are engaging in this sport, not because of competition but basically because they want to enjoy the time with their friends or family.

With all these advantages, many people are still not aware of the health benefits that bowling can provide. They just thought that the activity could promote physical vigor and it stopped there. What they do not know is that the health benefits of bowling is more than just building stamina and releasing energy.

So for those who are not yet aware of these benefits, here is a list that you should know:

1. Promotes good muscle exercises

Merely walking along the lane, while attempting to make a strike or a spare, is enough to exercise the muscles in your legs. It resembles that of the “walking exercise” that most health buffs do; the only difference is that there is more weight involved. This is because in bowling, your hands are holding the bowling ball.

Consequently, as you swing around to hit the pins, the flexing and stretching provides adequate exercise for your tendons, joints, ligaments, and muscles in the arms.

2. Fat burning

As your muscles flex, turn, and twist in every swinging motion that you make while playing bowling, these moves can actually promote the burning of some accumulated body fat.

3. Builds friendships

One of the health benefits that can be derived in bowling is based on the kind of relationship that is being built with your friends or family. As some psychologists contend, building social relationships can actually promote better performance of the heart muscles. Emotional stress can shorten the lifespan of an average person.

Indeed, there can be no better or enjoyable way to live a healthy life than bowling can.

Penis Size: Grower Vs. Shower?

So many eternal questions concerning men and their nether regions: Boxers or briefs? Cut or intact? Hang left or hang right? And, of course, grower or shower? While these questions usually have little impact on penis health, they do have varying degrees of importance to a man – and the grower or shower one can be especially important. Despite the fact that erect penis size has nothing to do with whether a guy grows or shows, the myth that there is a correlation between flaccid penis size and erect size continues.

For the uninitiated, “grower” and “shower” (pronounced “show-er,” rather than like the shower in a bathtub) refer to whether a man’s flaccid penis is relatively small. Two men might both have a penis which when erect measures, say, six inches. But the soft penis of Man #1 may be only two inches long, whereas the soft penis of Man #2 is five inches. Man #1 is a grower, because there is a significant growth between his flaccid and erect states. Man #2 is a shower, because there is little growth between his two states – in other words, he “shows” much more of his ultimate penis size when he is unaroused.

So what?

Since both men have the same erect penis size, what does it matter if one is a shower and one a grower? In physical terms it doesn’t, but it terms of self-esteem and psychological well-being, it sometimes does.

Since society is so obsessed with penis size and equates a large penis with desirability, many men (and women) place a disproportionate importance on the size of the organ when soft. Although men are somewhat loathe to admit it, they do a lot of comparisons between their own and other men’s penises. So if a guy who is a grower goes to the gym a lot, he is likely to do at least a little checking of other men in the locker room. Seeing showers sporting an impressive size can make him feel insecure about his own member.

Women also fall prey to judging a man by his soft size. If a partner steps out of his trousers with a long piece dangling, many women start to feel aroused. The expectation is that if the manhood is that long before he’s aroused, imagine what it will be like when the blood starts flowing.

But as mentioned above, a man who is a shower is not likely to double or triple in length, as is often the case with a grower. He may only add an inch or two to the final package. That’s nothing to complain about, but it does belie the fact that a shower is going to be enormous. (Of course, there are some rare showers who will end up with an erection of seven or eight inches – just as there are some rare growers who will do likewise.)

Most men would much prefer to be a shower than a grower, if for locker room bragging rights if nothing else. They may feel somehow less of a man because of their relatively short flaccid penis size. But many showers have to put up with unrealistic expectations from women who become disappointed if their erect penis size is only normal.

Men and women would do well to remember that, whether a grower or a shower, penis size really has very little bearing on sexual satisfaction. Skill matters much more. Some relatively small men are maestros of sexual engagement and some with monstrous equipment leave a partner very unsatisfied.

Beyond penis size (and whether a grower or shower), maintaining penis health via the regular application of a top drawer penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin) is crucial. Be sure the crème includes L-arginine, an amino acid that plays a role in penile blood vessel dilation, essential for the blood flow that a functioning penis requires. The crème should also include L-carnitine, another amino acid, which does a good job of maintaining penis sensitivity by fighting peripheral nerve damage.

The Chiropractic Industry in the Philippines – Perspectives From a Chiropractor in Makati, Manila

There are less than two dozen chiropractors in the Philippines as of 2013 – representing a very small group of the 100,000 Chiropractors in the world, which mostly practice in countries with advanced economies (the G8 countries). You could say Chiropractic is in its pioneer stages of development in the Philippines.

Chiropractic has been in existence since 1895. It is a health care discipline which emphasizes the inherent recuperative power of the body to heal itself without the use of drugs or surgery. The practice of chiropractic focuses on the relationship between structure (primarily the spine) and function (as coordinated by the nervous system) and how that relationship affects the preservation and restoration of health. In addition, Doctors of Chiropractic recognize the value and responsibility of working in cooperation with other health care practitioners when in the best interest of the patient.

Although there have been isolated members of the profession through out the 1900’s who lived and saw patients in the Philippines, the first Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) to set up a permanent chiropractic clinic in Manila was Dr. Uy in 1986. For the first decade there were around a dozen Chiropractors who came to practice in the Philippines of which only half remained. The next decade saw the doubling of the total clinics from 5 to 10. When I opened my chiropractic clinic in 2006 in SM Bacoor, Cavite and in Forbes, Makati in 2007 I was only the 10th Chiropractor in the country.

Since 1988 the World Federation of Chiropractors (WFC) has held a seat for the small presence of chiropractors in the Philippines. In 2006 the Asian Pacific Federation of Chiropractic Doctors (APCDF) was established to develop the profession in the region, including the Philippines. We have held a council seat since its inception and I am a current officer.

The Philippine government passed a law in 1997 referred to as the TAMA act which resulted in the formation of a Complimentary and Alternative Medicine division of the Department of Health. The department is called the Philippine Institute of Traditional and Alternative Health Care, or PITAHC for short. In 2009 PITAHC established the National Certification Committee on Chiropractic (NCCC) which has to date certified 22 Doctors of Chiropractic, all graduates of colleges in the United States.

In the Philippines, there are outdated laws that limit the practice by professionals to Filipino citizens. These same laws permit licensing by reciprocity and there are hundreds of Filipino citizens who are licensed and who practice in the United States. The Chiropractic profession currently is not regulated by the Professional Regulatory Commission (P.R.C.) so foreigners with appropriate residency status with rights to engage in employment and business, and who are qualified and experienced in Chiropractic, are operating their private practices under general civil laws meeting the same requirements of any commercial entity. In addition they undergo Certification by the NCCC to assure the public of their professional training.

These provisions are important for the immediate growth of Chiropractic in the Philippines because most chiropractors who are willing to relocate to the Philippines are not citizens; limiting their practices would be contrary to the best public interest of the people of the Philippines.

The next step is the formalization of a National Chiropractic Association. This organization assists in the development of the Chiropractic profession and also in the self-regulation of its practitioners. Public health education is not the responsibility of the individual doctor but it is a principal role of the association. Second education topic is the providing of continuing education for its member chiropractors and so the profession can keep growing scientifically. Third education topic is the effort towards establishing a formal College of Chiropractic so bright, intelligent and young Filipino men and women can enter the profession after attending a local eight year university training program.

Other duties and responsibilities of the national association will evolve as the profession grows in the Philippines. The last important topic to mention is the formulation (under international consultations) of an appropriate Chiropractic Law as the final stage of public safety and professional recognition.

In the meantime, Media can play an important role in educating the public of the benefits of chiropractic. There have been many highlighted stories on chiropractic by TV and newspapers over the past 20 years and many more are needed. The future for the Chiropractic profession in the Philippines looks excellent, but it also looks like it will take many years of effort and by full and complete acceptance of all members of the profession for the roles each can contribute to the pioneering of Chiropractic in the Philippines.

OxyDHQ – Killing Cancer Through Cellular Oxygenation

Low cellular oxygen levels can lead to cancer:

We live in a world today where harmful toxins & carcinogens are ever present, even in the air we breathe. General household products including cleaning products, air fresheners etc. plus beauty & skincare creams, bath & shower gels, unless they are naturally based, contain parabans & other toxic substances proved to be carcinogenic. In addition to this the food we buy, unless certified organic, is sprayed with pesticides & other chemicals which inhibit the healthy functioning of our immune system & can also directly contribute to cancer.

The build up of such toxins in our body results in the surrounding cells becoming starved of oxygen. Oxygen plays a key role in the functioning of healthy cells, they need oxygen as they are aerobic, this means they burn oxygen to produce energy. When the availability of oxygen becomes reduced to a certain point, the cell is unable to continue to function correctly & is now susceptible to attack from microbes, which actually take over the cell. At this point the respiration mechanism of the cell ceases to function in a ‘normal’ manner, it turns anaerobic. This is the basic functioning of cancer cells, they are anaerobic & they seek out glucose, instead of oxygen, to produce energy. The surrounding healthy cells become affected by the functioning of these cancerous cells & lack of oxygen as a result of the anaerobic processes of them & they too become unable to function in a normal manner. This is how cancer can take a hold in our body & begin to spread. Cancer cells, when in an oxygen deprived environment will thrive & spread like wild fire! As cancer cells get more & more oxygen the rate at which they spread becomes slower & slower until they start to die.

Healthy cells thrive in a highly oxygenated environment & have the ability to repair & maintain themselves, fighting off disease before it even takes a hold. So it is vital that, should we be faced with a serious illness such as cancer, cellular oxygen levels are boosted in order to increase our body’s ability to fight the disease at the most important level; at cellular level!

Your oncologist will be well aware of the fact that oxygen kills cancer, however as they are only able to recommend & prescribe any form of medication that is provided to them through pharmaceutical companies, whose focus is primarily ‘patenting drugs’ they will not be supportive in your choice to go down such a route. The big drug companies are only interested in producing medication which they have the legal rights over, oxygen does not fall into this category, as it cannot be patented & over-priced.

Otto Heinrich Warburg won Nobel Peace Prize in 1931 for his discovery that cancer cells are anaerobic, so this is by no means a new concept, just one that appears to be simply overlooked by the medical industry who constantly seek the recognition of having the ‘next big cancer drug’ under trial. Always drugs because this is all they can ‘invent’. The truth is that the most effective treatments are far more simple than all this, nature provides all we need & science gives us the ability to encompass these natural ingredients into potent cancer killing remedies.

Effective methods for delivering oxygen to cells:

The difficulty in successfully delivering oxygen into cancer cells arises due to the thick coating the microbe creates around these cells. It has not yet been discovered actually how the microbe forms this protein coating, but one of its most likely purposes is to keep oxygen out.

What is needed is the ability to cut through this coating, where the oxygen can then be released into the cell. It then becomes possible, not for the cell die, but for it to reconstruct itself & return to normal, healthy functioning.

Most oxygen supplements are unable to penetrate the coating around cancer cells. One method, however, which many people have found to be very effective, is by drinking food grade hydrogen peroxide. It is easy to be put off by the thought of this but this is only due to lack of understanding of what hydrogen peroxide actually is. We would normally think of a chemical used for bleaching hair. The truth is that hydrogen peroxide is completely natural & is simply water with an extra oxygen atom. We all know of water as having the atomic structure (h2o), hydrogen peroxide is very similar (h2o2) & this extra oxygen atom gives it some very interesting properties. It has many, many uses although it is important that, when consumed as a method for treating illness, a proper protocol is followed. Hydrogen peroxide baths are another good way of absorbing oxygen through the …

Martin Bormann – A New Body of Evidence

When anyone mentions the name Martin Bormann most baby-boomers will know who he was, they will also be quick to tell you that even though there was a wild goose chase across the globe to find him, he certainly died in 1945, proved they say, by the finding of his bones in Berlin in 1972. Martin Bormann Hitler’s right hand man and chancellor, the man that controlled all of the vast Nazi loot was tried in absentia in October 1946 at the Nuremberg trials. Found guilty of war crimes and sentenced to death by hanging, Bormann evaded the noose due to his mysterious disappearance.

Two Nazi witnesses at the Nuremberg trials testified to the fact that they had seen Bormann and fellow Nazi, Dr Ludwig Stumpfegger dead, only hours after fleeing the bunker where Hitler had supposedly put a bullet through his brain. One going as far as to say that he had even seen Bormann’s dead ”moonlit face”.

From 1945 the hunt for Martin Bormann was on. During the confusion of those early post war years, the West German government kept the heat up, but UKUSA’s ‘hunt’ was only, If anything, luke-warm. A concentrated search effort had been made in 1945 around the site of the supposed ‘moonlit’ scenario of Bormann and Stumpfegger, with who he was last seen alive. With the advantage of hordes of allied troops on the ground to co-ordinate a thorough search, no stone was left unturned. The same was done independently by a Russian recon group, after Lieutenant General Konstantin Telegin, of the Soviet 5th Shock Army was delivered of a diary said to be of Bormann’s, found near the same site.

In those early post war years, it was not yet a ‘cold case’, with memories still fresh and the ground still soft. Any such corpses although decomposed, would have certainly been on, or near the surface and easily identifiable with the minimum of forensics; but not as much as a scrap of flesh was found of either man. At least they had some disputable charred remains of Hitler, but the bodies of Bormann and Stumpfegger had literally vanished into thin air, along with the Nazi loot.

But after construction workers came across human remains near the Lehrter station in Berlin in 1972, the world’s press gathered to hear if this was indeed Bormann. Bormann’s Nazi dentist Dr Hugo Blaschke was called and he recalled from memory his former patient’s dental physiology and gave testimony that they were one and the same, the case was closed. It was not until 1998 that due to modern science the remains were subjected to a DNA forensic study by the West German prosecutor. The reason for this new 1998 investigation was that in 1996 Christopher Creighton, aka John Ainsworth-Davis a former British Naval Intelligence agent and member of the covert British group C.O.P.P (Combined Operations Pilotage Parties) had published a book, OPJB(Operation James Bond). In the book, Creighton using a pseudonym claims that along with Ian Fleming, he was instructed by Winston Churchill and Desmond Morton the head of Secret British intelligence section V to rescue Martin Bormann from a burning Berlin in May 1945. The book, passed off as a novel to protect Creighton from serious breach consequences of the Official Secrets Act unsettled the German government so much that a thorough forensics and DNA investigation was carried out on the remains. The forensic results came back after the legal medical team matched blood from a Bormann relative, the match was positive.

A confirmation of the remains being those of Bormann was released to the world’s press, along with the statement that Martin Bormann had certainly died in 1945 at the site his remains were found.

Due to the 1998 DNA confirmation of the Skeleton, Modern historians teach their students that stories of Bormann escaping to South America are false, nothing more than the rantings of conspiracy theorists and madmen. Investigative journalists and even former intelligence agents have been continually slandered after they have released information to the contrary, that there has been a cover up by the western allies, that not only did Bormann escape, but his escape was orchestrated by the British intelligence services with the support of the United States government.

Anyone that dares to raise any questions as to the true dynamics of Bormann’s disappearance and death, are discredited based only on the DNA match which confirm the remains as being Bormann. But why are there such conflicting stories between the official version and the version by those that have seriously investigated this strange case for decades? Bormann’s remains were found in 1972, but did he really die in 1945? And what exactly is at stake if the facts were proved that he died much later than we are …

Are Prescription Glasses Covered by Insurance?

Many people wonder if the cost of their prescription glasses is covered by their insurance plan. The answer is that it varies tremendously from plan to plan. Before you pay out of your own pocket for prescription glasses, take a look at your plan to determine whether or not you have vision coverage.

What Most Insurance Plans Cover

Most medical insurance plans cover losses of vision and finances due to eye injury or disease. In other words, if your eye is damaged in a car accident and you require the services of an eye doctor, it will be covered. Most medical insurance plans do not cover typical “wellness” care for your eyes, such as prescription glasses and routine eye exams, unless the plan has a vision insurance policy attached to it.

Adding Vision Insurance

If you are part of a group insurance plan, you may have the option to add vision insurance to your policy. This is usually considered a value-added benefit that is attached to a traditional health insurance structure. Whether you have indemnity health insurance, an HMO, or a PPO, you may have the opportunity to add vision insurance. By adding this coverage, you will be able to access a network of eye care providers and specialists, as well as coverage and discounts on your routine eye care. This usually includes the cost of prescription glasses.

Paying for Vision Insurance

Adding a vision benefits package to your health insurance adds an annual premium amount. You may also have a deductible that you have to meet before the insurance will cover your eye care. Typically, the premium will be an amount up to $144 a year, and the maximum deductible is typically under $40. Each plan is different, so be sure to read the fine print, but you will pay more for this coverage if you pay for your own health insurance. Some companies provide this as part of their overall healthcare benefits, so read your policy to see if you are covered.

In general, those with vision insurance will receive:

– A yearly eye exam

– Eyeglass lenses and frames

– Contacts

– LASIK discounts

Some providers will put limits on their coverage, such as only allowing the insured to get new glasses or contacts every other year. They also may put a limit on the amount they will pay for frames, which means you will pay a little out of your pocket if you want designer frames.

Tips for Using Vision Insurance

Before you schedule an appointment, check with your benefits information packet to see what doctors are covered. Remember, you will need to use a doctor in your network if you want to be covered. If you need to see a doctor who is not in your network, you may still be able to have your prescription glasses covered by filling your prescription elsewhere, but you will have to pay out of pocket for your exam.

When it is time for your eye exam, make sure you talk to your optometrist about your insurance. Most policies require the doctor to seek pre-authorization before they treat you if you are going to be covered. If this is necessary, have the doctor make the necessary calls before your appointment.

When you arrive for your appointment, present your vision insurance card. You will be asked to pay any deductibles or co-pays associated with the coverage you have. After your exam, the doctor or his staff will help you choose frames. If you have limits on the amount you can spend for frames, make sure you are looking at covered options.

If you are lucky enough to have prescription glasses coverage, make sure you take advantage of it as often as you are allowed. This will ensure that you have updated glasses as often as you need them, helping you see the world around you clearly.

Improving Your Vision Health With The Blackberry Fruit

One of the healthy steps that you can take to improve your vision health is to add fruits and vegetables to your diet. When it comes to eating the right foods to improve eyesight research studies have shown that foods that are rich in anthocyanosides are a highly recommended part of your diet for better eye health. One example of an eye food rich in anthocyanosides is the blackberry fruit. Some of the general health benefits of the blackberry fruit includes diabetes prevention, better immunity, cancer prevention and better heart health to name a few. Therefore, if you are interested in improving your vision health by consuming the right nutrition, here are the vision benefits of blackberries including those related to your general health:

Eye Health Benefits: As a food for better vision, this delicious fruit is rich in anthocyanosides. These are antioxidant rich compounds that protect the eyes from oxidative stress. This is accomplished by reducing the damaging effects of rogue free radical agents that breakdown healthy tissues and eye cells in the body. This fruit is a source of Lutein that protects the eyes by forming a protective pigment in the center of the retina called the macular, at the back of the eyes. This pigment protects the eyes from the harmful U.V rays of the sun. It acts like natural sunglasses in protecting vision health from harmful high wavelength light radiation. The blackberry fruit is also rich in the eye nutrients vitamins A and C that increase vision health. The anthocyanoside rich compounds found in this eye food consists of antioxidants that protect against eye diseases and reduce your risks for age related vision disorders such as macular degeneration and cataracts.

Cancer Prevention: One of the main causes of cancer is the development of free radicals that damages the DNA of healthy cells. This destruction leads to the development of conditions in the body that are conducive to the spread of cancer cells. Antioxidants function as protective agents in the body that prevent this cell damage. They also neutralize these rogue cells in the body that lead to cell destruction and the breakdown of healthy cell DNA and tissues in the body. The Blackberry fruit consists of these antioxidants that are cancer fighting agents in the body thereby reducing our risks for various types of cancer. Furthermore, this vision food has a high ORAC rating. This stands for Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity. This basically means that a food with a good ORAC rating has high antioxidant content. Due to its high potency in antioxidant content, such foods are very effective in reducing cancer risks. These foods are also good at neutralizing free radical agents in the body according to scientific lab tests done in test tube experiments.

Improves Mental Performance: Owing to their rich polyphenol content they are helpful in preventing age related mental decline and improve cognitive ability. This is due to the fact that they reduce the negative effects of aging in the brain thereby improving memory and neural function as well. Therefore, if you are concerned about staying sharp and improving your brain function, then, regular consumption of this fruit in your diet can help you to accomplish that goal.

Better Heart Health: Its anthocyanoside, Magnesium and Fiber content all work together collectively in reducing the buildup of plaque in the arteries of the heart. Additionally, it also creates healthy conditions in the heart for better circulation and the smooth flow of blood in the cardiovascular system. This can reduce the risks for diseases such as heart disease and stroke. By consuming blackberries regularly in your diet you are doing the things that you need to do to strengthen your heart and eyes; 2 important factors necessary for a healthy and properly working visual system.

Iatrogenic Addiction – The Wave of New Chemical Use Disorders

What is an Iatrogenic Addiction?

A disorder that has spread like wildfire but is definitely not a scheduled stop for the patient; An iatrogenic condition is the pain pill addiction after an injury or surgery calls for pain management. No one knows whose body will hook onto certain chemicals until the situation has occurred.

Two major problems with treating chronic pain with opiates are addiction/dependence and side effects. Treating prescription medication addiction is not as simple as a drug and alcohol detoxification or rehabilitation program. Chronic pain patients present a greater challenge to doctors for several reasons including ongoing pain complaints, fear of activity and debilitation, high incidence of untreated psychological issues.

The definition of drug addiction and dependence are very controversial. It has developed over time and has been the subject of much debate in the development of the updated criteria for the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, the bible of the psychology world. The American Society of Addiction Medicine defines addiction as “a primary, chronic, neurobiologic disease with genetic, psycho-social, and environmental factors influencing its development and manifestations.”

It is recognized by impaired control over drug use, compulsive use, continued use despite harm, and cravings. The term dependence is often used to denote a physiological dependence composed of tolerance and/or withdrawal symptoms.

Iatrogenic addiction refers to addiction that is caused by prescribed medications. The National Institute of Health’s MedLine Plus online dictionary defines iatrogenic as “induced inadvertently by a physician or surgeon or by medical treatment or diagnostic procedures.” Unlike addiction to non-prescription drugs (e.g. alcohol, cocaine, heroin), addiction to prescription opiates requires a clinician to prescribe.

It is tempting to classify those with prescription medication problems as “addicts” and to believe all can be fixed by “detox.” This may be true for a small portion of these patients. Members of the medical community focusing on addiction and law enforcement are well aware of illicit drug addicts who find their way into the medical system specifically to acquire prescription drugs.

It is difficult to know exactly what percentage of chronic pain has driven patients into active addiction. Some have addictive habits, such as smoking and alcohol, while others have a history of addictions. However, others had no prior vulnerability and ended up with withdrawal and cravings when use was decreased or stopped.

It is time for the medical profession to treat pain as a multi-layered condition. That means most patients not only have biological factors, but also mental health issues which prolong disability and delay recovery. This makes treatment a more complicated endeavor than standard drug and alcohol detoxification and rehabilitation.

Detoxing from drugs is possibly one of the most uncomfortable things that a person will ever experience. It is like having the worst flu you ever experienced, mixed with a psychological torture. One minute you are hot, the next you are cold. Every muscle in your body screams out begging for the drug.

It is clear to see why many active addicts are afraid to stop using. Besides the physical and mental distress that one experiences when going through detox, there are certain drugs that symptoms can be life-threatening. Benzodiazepines are one example of a drug that you should never attempt to detox from alone. Drugs in this category are Xanax and Valium. The detox from these substances can cause seizures, which could result in death. When detoxing from a benzodiazepine, it is important that the proper medical personnel are present. Thousands of people attempt to detox and end up hospitalized or dead.

Years ago, physicians treated chronic pain patients with escalating doses of opiates despite dependence, addiction, the development of complications, and limited overall clinical and functional improvement. Today, most refuse to accept the liability of prescribing medication stronger than Tylenol 3. To break this pattern, a unique profile must be developed for the chronic pain patient and identify better tools for the management of both addiction and pain.

Smegma: Causes, Symptoms and Treatments

Dead skin cells and sebum oils combine beneath the penis foreskin, and appear as small white lumps. This is known as smegma. While it may be alarming when first noticed, it is a natural occurrence and helps to promote lubrication between the glans and the foreskin. Smegma should be removed through normal washing processes, but in some cases when hygiene is low or washing under the foreskin difficult, smegma may build up and causes problems further down the track. Regular washing, penis health crèmes and medications may be required to control smegma.

Smegma is present beneath the foreskin of all men as the skin is constantly producing it, but it is not always apparent. When it does become visible, smegma appears as moist white materials forming into tiny balls between the glans and foreskin. While smegma is odorless, in some cases when hygiene is very poor smegma can harden into “smegma stones” which can be highly uncomfortable. Eventually hardened smegma can cause cultures of bacteria under the foreskin to increase, and raise the risk of infection and disease. If smegma appears with other symptoms such as itching, inflammation or pain, check with your doctor to rule out sexually transmitted diseases or yeast infections.

Hygiene: Why don’t all men experience smegma? It depends upon the differences in hygiene habits, as washing beneath the foreskin will remove exfoliated skin cells before they can gather sebum oils and become visible smegma. According to a review of research published in The Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venerology in 2006, researchers have determined that smegma is made up of dead skin cells, oil, prostate secretions, sex hormones and white blood cells. Doctors used to believe that smegma could cause diseases, like prostate cancer, but scientists now understand that smegma is common in adolescents and adult men. It helps to lubricate the space between the head of the penis and the foreskin, and may even have antibacterial and antifungal properties.

Men who experienced difficulty retracting their foreskin back and exposing the head of their penis may have a condition known as phimosis. Most often congenital, phimosis may also be the cause of trauma, infection or scarring. Due to the difficult in retracting the foreskin, hygiene and cleaning is very difficult in many cases, making the presence of smegma more likely. According to a study published in The Journal of Urology in 1973, men with phimosis are almost twice as likely to experience smegma as men without phimosis. If cleaning of the space beneath the foreskin is too difficult and does not remove smegma properly, circumcision or partial circumcision may be required in order to prevent discomfort and the onsent of disease.

Washing: Smegma is a natural lubricant and antibacterial agent, but it can build up if penis hygiene is not performed regularly. Regular cleaning of the penis glans beneath the foreskin with soap and warm water helps to remove exfoliated skin cells and keep them from accumulating. This good hygiene practice should be completed every day, especially in men with a tendency for developing smegma, as a preventative measure.

Medications: In some cases antibiotics can have a regulatory effect on sebum oil glands in the skin, and may benefit cases of several smegma build-up when the causes is not due to phimosis or poor hygiene. Antibiotics are commonly used for severe cases of acne, though they take several months to take full effect on the sebum oil glands. Antibiotics can cause side effects in some cases, such as poor immune function, gut dysbiosis and digestive problems. Check with your doctor to find out if antibiotics are appropriate for you.

Crèmes: Penis health Crèmes can help to balance sebum oil glands beneath the foreskin, and keep penis skin moisturized. Many men experience dry skin on their penis, glans and foreskin, due to the high amount of soap they have to use to remove smegma build-up. Specialist topical formulas (most health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil) containing nutrients such as vitamin E, C, A, B3 and shea butter may help to support normal skin regeneration, soften dried smegma that’s become hardened, and keep the penis skin healthy.

A Career As a Radiology Technician

If you are one of those who have a desire to help patients and think you are capable of providing service to those who needs radiology tests, you may choose a career as a Radiologist Technician. A radiology technician is a crucial part of most radiological procedures and plays a very important role in taking X-rays and performing other examinations for patients in order to determine their health. Working as a radiology technician, you may require dealing directly with the patient and operate the machinery that generally generates the medical images needed by the doctor.

As a radiology technician you are one of those few important persons who are responsible for maintaining the patients’ safety with the machinery you use to conduct tests. In addition to running these tests, you are also accountable for updating patient records and conducting associated clerical duties including maintaining paperwork relevant to the office machinery you generally use for patient testing. Besides this, you may also require to prepare work schedules, evaluate purchases of equipment and at times manage the entire radiology department.

Career Prospect

In many states of the United States radiology technologists and technicians are referred to as radiographers. The major highlight of choosing this career is that once you become a radiology technician you actually become eligible for holding different positions. With experience and gaining more training, you may also become radiology specialists, performing CT scanning, angiography, and magnetic resonance imaging. As an experienced technologist, you can further attain positions like supervisor, chief radiology technologist and ultimately radiology department administrator or director. In addition to this, the career even let you do specialization in Magnetic Resonance Imaging, CT scans and Angiography. It even offers you with options to branch out into one of these exciting jobs like:

  1. Radiation Therapist
  2. Ultrasound Technician
  3. Nuclear Medicine
  4. MRI Technician
  5. Mammography Technician
  6. Etho-cardiographer
  7. Bone Densitometrist

Job Outlook

Today if we carefully look at the scope of this occupation then it can be counted among few those professions in the United States whose demand is going to boom at a double rate in next few years. The employment is projected to grow faster than average, and job opportunities are expected to be more favorable. In fact, the employment of radiology technologists is expected to increase by about 15 percent from 2006 to 2016, which is definitely faster than the average for all occupations. In next few years, radiology technologists are willing to gain major benefits and those who also are experienced in more than one diagnostic imaging procedure like CT, MR, and mammography will enjoy the best job opportunities.

Though hospitals will continue to be the principal working location for most of the radiology technologists, but new jobs will also rise in medical centers, health clinics and diagnostic imaging centers. Health facilities like these are expected to grow through 2016, because of the shift toward outpatient care and technological advances that permit more procedures to be performed outside the hospital.

Great Salary

In terms of salary you can be confident enough that after you find employment as a radiology technologist the salary will be a good one. In the United States as of February 2009, the expected salary for a radiology technician is balanced right at about $46,500 per year. The low end of that spectrum starts at about $42,000 per year, but you may anticipate seeing upwards in salary margin per year. Starting salaries for radiographers can start at $30-$35k per year and extend to upwards of $55k per year for those who specialize in CT, MRI and special procedures.

Overall, a career in radiology will offer students a diverse field of specialties that they can pursue. It’s not only an interesting career, but a rewarding one as well.

Nutrition Teamwork – How Vitamins and Minerals Work Together

Nutrition teamwork between vitamins and minerals

Vitamins and minerals are team players, so if you want the most nutritional value from each meal, consider which foods work best together. Iron and Vitamin C are the best known nutritional “team” as they work together to increase each other’s absorption. So eating salad with your steak ensures greater absorption of both iron and Vitamin C.

Calcium and Vitamin D are another great team, although combining them into one meal takes a little more forethought. Dairy products are the chief nutritional source of calcium, while our bodies can create Vitamin D from sunlight. We can also absorb Vitamin D from food such as avocado or eggs, so if you don’t fancy drinking a milkshake while basking in the sun, throw a beaten egg into the milkshake or blend an avocado into a cup of Greek yogurt to make avocado dip (add lemon juice and garlic for extra flavour).

Nutrition “teams” can also consist of two minerals. Potassium and magnesium work together to maintain heart function and the neurological system. Magnesium also assists in the transportation of potassium around the body, so a magnesium deficiency can lead to a deficiency in potassium. Both minerals are readily available in most meats, fruits and vegetables, so the right levels can generally be achieved through a balanced diet. Coconut water is a rich and refreshing source of both potassium and magnesium, if you are concerned that you are not achieving the right levels through your everyday diet.

Vitamin A is an independent player, easily absorbed from highly coloured vegetables such as spinach and sweet potato, as well as from meats, eggs and dairy products. Once Vitamin A is stored in the liver, it relies on zinc for transportation into body tissues, so a lack of zinc will increase the risk of Vitamin A deficiency. The most common symptom of Vitamin A deficiency is night blindness, when vision fails to adjust to darkness. So if you lie awake at night feeling as if you’ve been blindfolded, consider a bowl of pumpkin soup before lunch and dinner to supplement your intake. (Stir a spoonful of tahini paste into the soup or nibble on the pumpkin seeds afterwards to ensure you also have enough zinc).

You can have fun matching your favourite foods with their strongest team-mates, but when this seems too complicated, consider some of the foods which work single-handedly as a complete “team”. Blueberries, for example, are a great source of both iron and Vitamin C. Milk contains Vitamin A and zinc, and salmon provides both Vitamin D and calcium. With a wide range of fresh foods available, there is a nutritious “team” to suit everyone at any time of the day.

How To Use Apple Cider Vinegar To Cure Your Acne

Today, many are switching to natural home remedies in a bid to save some money from buying those expensive skin solutions which claim to cure acne but never lived up to its promises. There is an increasing trend of awareness among the community to go for natural treatments and it’s definitely bad news for the commercial skin markets.

There are quite a number of natural home remedies available. Among one of them is apple cider vinegar. You probably would have read quite a number of articles about using apple cider vinegar as a cure for adult acne. Does this really work? How true is it? Hope this article can dispel some misconceptions about this natural home remedy if there is any.

What is Apple cider vinegar?

Apple Cider Vinegar otherwise known as (ACV) is an effective natural bacteria fighting agent that has many elements such as calcium, potassium, magnesium, chlorine, sodium, iron, sulfur and etc. All these elements are vital for a healthy body especially to promote healthy skin development. These anti-bacterial properties make it a good topical home remedy for acne.

The main ingredient of ACV is acetic acid. It helps to exfoliate the dead skin cells gently, kills the bacteria propionibacterium acnes which is generally known as P-acnes and neutralizes the sebum which is the oily substance P-acnes feeds and thrives on.

How is Apple Cider Vinegar made?

Apple cider vinegar is obtained by the fermentation of apple cider or apple must which is made from crushed organic apples. Just for your information, fermentation means an act of conversion. Organic apples have some kind of bacteria and yeast on their skins. So when they are crushed, you get pure apple juice with a mixture of bacteria and yeast.

After which you leave it to mature for a while. During this process, sugar in the apple cider is broken down by yeast and bacteria which turns into alcohol. It’s more like a brewing process which eventually turns into vinegar after a second fermentation.

If you don’t have all the time or resources to make one at home, you can easily purchase ACV from any departmental stores. First of all, make sure you get the organic ACV with the labels saying ‘With the Mother’ with an ideal acidity (pH) level of five to seven. This means that it is in raw and pure form characterized by dark, cloudy, web-like bacterial foam which is brownish in color.

Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar for Your Skin

ACV contains acids one of which is alpha-hydroxy acid which have been extracted directly from the apples. These acids help dissolve the oil and sebum that clogs the pores and eventually un-clogs them. This will encourage skin renewal.

It is known to cure allergies from pets, food and environmental pollution, high cholesterol, flu, chronic fatigue, sinus infections, sore throats, arthritis and gout just to name a few.

However its most popular benefit is associated with weight loss. ACV is known to break down fat and that a daily dose of apple cider vinegar in water helps to keep high blood pressure in control within just two weeks.

It also helps to regulate the pH of your skin by simply diluting it with two parts of water and spreading the concoction over your face using a cotton ball as a toner overnight and washing it off the next morning. Please be mindful that you dilute it with larger portions of water since you are going to leave it on your skin for long hours.

It also helps to lighten age spots by dabbing ACV directly on them for about twenty minutes or so daily depending on the size of them. Besides it also helps to cleanse your liver by getting rid of accumulated toxins and recharging its efficiency.

How to use Apple Cider Vinegar for acne?

The usage of this varies with the severity of your acne. Most of the time, users dilute it with water and apply it with a cotton ball over their spots as it seems to work very well. ACV is considered a good replacement for antibiotics as it helps to treat bacterial infections.

You can probably use apple cider vinegar in two ways; one as an internal tonic and as topical antibacterial solution.

Follow these steps and you might see some considerable results. First take three table spoons of ACV to a bottle of water and mix them well thoroughly. Then apply it on your face with a cotton ball as an astringent.

Try using three different cotton balls on your face. Use one for your forehead, another for your cheeks and nose and one for your chin. If you happen to have an oily nose in particular, use a separate one for that. This is to prevent spreading bacteria from …

Wet Dreams and Penis Health – Myths and Facts About Nighttime Ejaculation

A wet dream can be a male’s first experience with ejaculation, and for many, it can happen quite frequently. Unfortunately, the subject of wet dreams is not often brought up by parents or doctors, and many boys – and even men – believe that something is wrong with them when they wake up with a sticky patch in their briefs.

This misunderstanding is often perpetuated by well-meant but erroneous advice from older adults and others who may warn against wet dreams based on traditional beliefs. The fact is that these nighttime emissions are a normal physiological process, and most men will experience them at least once or twice in their lifetime. For this reason, it is important to know the difference between myth and fact when it comes to nighttime orgasms, as well as understanding the ins and outs of proper penis care.

Some of the more common myths about nighttime ejaculation are dispelled here:

Myth: Wet dreams are a perversion.

FACT: When boys reach puberty, their bodies begin to produce higher levels of testosterone, which leads to the production of semen. This fluid builds up in the body until it is released through ejaculation. Often, this happens during the night, in the course of an erotic dream. This is the result of a hormonal process, not a sexual disorder, and it is perfectly normal. Men of all ages can have wet dreams, although the frequency may diminish as a man begins to masturbate or becomes sexually active.

Myth: Nighttime ejaculation will dry up a man’s supply of sperm.

FACT: This is based on the false idea that a man has a set amount of sperm that is used up as he releases it. In fact, sperm is being constantly produced; and while the supply may be smaller right after ejaculation, it is quickly replaced. On the other hand, men who do not ejaculate, either through intercourse, masturbation, or wet dreams, may be bound by the “use it or lose it” rule and end up producing fewer sperm than sexually active men.

Myth:Ejaculation without intercourse will make a man weaker.

FACT: Many young men have been told that losing a drop of semen is like losing a quart of blood, but there is no comparison at all. Ejaculation, no matter how it is achieved, will not affect a man’s physical strength or his health in a negative way. In reality, ejaculation leads to the production of feel-good hormones that can help to relieve stress and promote relaxation; this may actually help to improve a man’s overall health, as opposed to making him weak or sick.

Myth: There is something wrong with guys who do NOT have wet dreams.

FACT: While most men do have wet dreams, everyone is different, and not having them is not a sign of anything wrong. It is also a good idea to keep in mind that not all men are aware that they have had a wet dream, as they might attribute the tell-tale sticky spot to something else, like nighttime sweating.

Taking care for better penis health

When wet dreams do occur, the best thing to do is enjoy the lingering sensation of bliss, and of course, to clean up. Leaving the semen on the skin for an extended period of time can irritate the dermal tissue, leading to soreness, drying and cracking, and even infection.

Washing with a mild cleanser and rinsing thoroughly with warm water is all that is required; scrubbing with a rough cloth or harsh soap will only aggravate the delicate skin. Afterward, a penis vitamin formula (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil) that is enriched with penis-specific nutrients and natural emollients can be applied to keep the penile skin soft, supple – and even more responsive to sensual signals.
